Podium in Volta ao Porto

Written by De Coppis at 05:59 26/1-2011

Co Veneberg, our captain, surprisingly enough has been able to reach the third spot overall in the Volta ao Porto. In the mountainous stages he managed to finish consistently in top 10, while he managed to kind of limit the losses in the time trials. Developing his time trial skill will be one of the next priorities as well as those of Faustino Proenca. The latter was competing for the young riders jersey, but lost more and more time as the Tour progressed. Besides not getting the same help as the captain, also his poor flat road skills seem to have been of great influence. Another point to focus on. All together we are of course very pleased with our first Tour and will come back for more in the future, but a stronger team is to be built still. Right now first we will train Proenca fully and then associate with a time trial center to improve his and Veneberg's time trial skill. Once that is finished we will once again focus on acquiring some new riders.
